Glympse location sharing service now available for new Samsung GALAXY Gear
SEATTLE — September 4, 2013 — Glympse Inc., the groundbreaking temporary location sharing service, is partnering with Samsung, the leading mobile company in the world, to provide location sharing technology for the just-announced Samsung GALAXY Gear. With this new app, Glympse becomes the first and only location service for a wearable device that allows location to be shared with others in real-time.
“Location technology and wearable devices are a natural fit, and by working with Samsung, users around the globe will be able to use Glympse to share their whereabouts in real-time, wherever they are,” said Bryan Trussel, co-founder and CEO of Glympse. “We are excited for the possibilities of wearable technology, as we believe we are uniquely positioned to be the signature location solution for this important new category of devices.”
Samsung GALAXY Gear wearers can quickly and easily send a Glympse to friends, allowing them to see their real-time movements on a map, for a set period of time. In addition, wearers can receive and view a Glympse message on a dynamic map or respond to a location request. GALAXY Gear wearers can access all these features with just a few simple taps.
In the past year, Glympse has partnered with a number top tier global brands and companies, including BMW, Ford, Garmin, and Mercedes, to bundle its location sharing technology into apps and devices serving millions of users globally. This latest partnership with Samsung continues to demonstrate interest and demand for location sharing technology, and it underscores Glympse’s leadership position in the industry.
