Glympse Is SOC 2 Type 2 Certified
SOC 2 compliance demonstrates the organization’s commitment to providing an industry leading secure platform to its customers.
Glympse, the industry-leading pioneer of real-time location sharing solutions, is proud to announce that the Glympse EnRoute Platform for Enterprise Customers continues to comply with the AICPA Security Trust Principles and Criteria for Security (SOC 2 Type 2). Glympse certification assures that its platform is not just technologically groundbreaking to its customers, but also achieves very high standards in its security policies and data protection procedures.
At its core, SOC for Service Organizations deals with assurance reports on the internal controls of those companies. If an organization such as a retailer or a grocery store was looking to outsource real-time location sharing and other personal information of its customers to a technology service provider like Glympse, these assurance reports would be effective in an assessment of the provider’s security and data protection procedures. This is especially important during an era where more data is being moved to the cloud than ever and controls and transparency over a customer’s data is of paramount importance – thus making data security and proper information security protocols an omnipresent concern for many business leaders.
Because of the rigorous structure of the SOC 2, Type 2 audit, this compliance is considered to be the “gold standard” for software-as-a-service (SaaS) organizations in the United States.
“As a company that has always worked hard to be an industry leader in location-based customer experience solutions for Middle and Last Mile, we’ve never forgotten that our relationship with our customers is precipitated on trust” said Chris Ruff, CEO and president of Glympse. “You can’t get to that critical level of trust with anything less than full transparency when it comes to data security, which is what our effort to maintain SOC 2 compliance was all about.”
Because of the unique nature of the Glympse platform, both business’ customers and their eventual end users rely on the platform to keep information secure at all times. However, without access to this type of sensitive, location-based data, Glympse would not be able to offer the types of innovative customer experiences that allowed them to build so many value-added relationships with so many companies around the country. SOC 2 compliance allows both of these concepts to remain true at all times.
“We’re proud to have achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification and recognize that it is only a guidepost on the path to a more secure location-sharing experience” said John Gruender, VP of Engineering at Glympse. “As our products continue to evolve, we will continue to incorporate the security factors assessed by the SOC 2 audit into the core values of our company.”
